Our mission at Journeyman RV Flag Mounts is to produce the highest quality products as possible, and to help our customers solve their problems of mounting a flag to their RV, camper trailer, travel trailer, 5th wheel, toy hauler, etc.
Hello, we are Patrick & Megan Donnellan, the co-founders of Journeyman RV Flag Mounts. We have both been avid campers for most of our lives. We were both born and raised in Michigan, where camping is a huge industry. We enjoy the great outdoors and are passionate about camping and everything that it has to offer.
Our company name, Journeyman, derived for two different reasons. Number one, camping to us is a journey of experiences and memories that we cherish along the way. Secondly, I am by trade, a Certified Journeyman Tool & Die Maker with over 25 years of experience. Meaning that I am a skilled craftsman in the area of metal working and take great pride in what I make. The end result is a standard of high quality that cannot be surpassed in the industry. Therefore, we thought the name Journeyman was a great fit and named the business accordingly.
A couple of years ago my wife and I were camping. We were enjoying some coffee and a campfire, while talking about what we could do to make our campsite more appealing. We were interested in adding some things to make it more unique and homelike. An idea that we both agreed on was having a flag. Both of us wanted to show our patriotism and love for our country. Some campgrounds have strict rules and policies on inserting things into the ground, while with others the ground is so hard that it is virtually impossible to insert any kind of flag post. After doing a little research online, neither one of us found any options that we favored. There were modifications that needed to be made to our trailer like drilling holes into the frame, which is thick ½ ich steel plating, making it very difficult. Or, drilling into the side of the trailer for a mount that could possibly create a spot for water intrusion. Not to mention modifications like these lower the value of the trailer or rig. We didn’t like the other available options either, or didn’t think that they would work very well for our application.
Therefore, we came up with an idea of mounting something directly to our trailer without having to make modifications. We wanted something that was easy, affordable, yet robust!
